Location: Sandy Spit
From Cane Garden Bay we motored to a tiny island once owned by the Rockefeller's and took a nice walk around the island followed by some beach time. After that we sailed to the notorious Foxy's where we ate lunch and explored the little beach shops. Then we did a mangrove clean-up near Sydney's Peace and Love bar and grill. We then had a very informative environmental session with Colin, (who works with the government) regarding issues in the BVIs. We ended the day anchoring is Sandy Spit with the rest of Actionquest. It was a busy but awesome day!

Location: Cane Garden Bay, Tortola
We woke up at 5:45 and took the dingys over to a really pretty beach to look for turtle nests. When we got back to the boat we sailed for 2 hours to Brewer's Bay. We spent the afternoon tagging turtles. When Michelle and I were snorkeling behind the boat looking for turtles, we saw a huge spotted eagle ray. No one caught any turtles but it was still fun to snorkel behind the dingy. We sailed over to Kane Garden Bay, which is where we are anchoring for the night.

Location: Sommer's Beach, Tortola
It was a very hot and eventful day! First we went turteling which was fun, we didn't see any turtles, but we saw stingrays, barracudas and tonnes of fish. After, we had by far the worst lunch ever. It was supposed to be Mac n' Cheese, but it ended up a cheesy glob that made the entire boat nauseous. After more fun turteling we went to play games with Actionquest , that ended in a beach BBQ . Great food, and fun conversations. Overall, a great day!

Location: Muskmellon Bay
This morning we got to sleep in until 7:30 and started cooking a delicious French toast breakfast. While the shipmates had a crazy time at breakfast, the staff left for a short meeting. We then motored over to Muskmellon Bay to meet up with all of the other Action Quest boats. Today we got a day off and spent the day water skiing, swimming, sailing, wakeboarding, snorkeling and tanning. Everyone had a fun and relaxing day in the perfectly sunny weather with the exception of a few toilet problems. For dinner, Connor and Noah made some super b chili and we all hope to end the evening with a long-awaited game of Mafia!!!

Today we woke up and had cereal and oatmeal for breakfast. We then motored to a beach and did a clean up for a while. Then we came back and sailed to Marina Cay where we refilled our water. After that we showered and had chicken Caesar salad, rice, and pasta for dinner. It was delicious! Next we went ashore on Marina Cay and met up with the rest of Action Quest . We all listened to an inspiring tape which discussed everything from depression, self-identity, and family troubles. A lot of kids shared their stories in the tape. After the forum we all came back to the boat and hung out for a little bit before we went to sleep.

Noah - 2007-07-20

Location: Anegada
We woke up this morning to an overcast day that never really cleared. After some delicious eggs, we set off to visit the iguanas of Anegada. We went for some food for the iguanas and found some delicious food for ourselves, (tamarin and coconuts.) We also measured and weighed the iguanas and some one accidentally dropped one but some one saved it just in time, and then someone else got a little love bite from one of the iguanas. Finished with the lizards and we taxied to Cow Wreck beach and hung out and ate ice cream. Patrick and Lauren won the Chicken Fights, (they cheated!) It was a bit cold but then we came back to the boat and had some delicious Summer Thanksgiving dinner.

Beach clean up and lunch at Big Bamboo

Today was a fun day! Everyone went on walks on 3 different parts of the beach to pick up trash. That wasn't the fun part because it was rainy and chilly. After we walked around for 2 hours we went to a restaurant called the Big Bamboo and played volleyball and hung out.

This morning we woke up at 5:45am to set off on an early embracement to the island of Anegada. At about 6:10 the crew lifted the main sail into fast winds, yet relaxing seas. On Anegada the Lifeworks posse spilt into 4 beach hiking groups with the mission of picking up trash and spotting turtle tracks. A little distracted, the group walking towards winless had a mind-blowing conversation about the universe and purpose. It was crazy! At the end of the hike the counselors whooped our butts in beach volleyball. Although we did have one kid with a broken arm. The car ride back the Jewish population of the boat started singing little Jewish jingles as the Christian population tried to fight back with songs like Santa Claus is Coming to Town and Silent Night, but the performance of Hara Niegla was simply stunning.

Hike and turtle tagging

Today we hiked on an "unmarked path" up and down a completely bush covered island. After falling, sweating, being eaten by bugs and being smacked in the face by branches, we all made it to a gorgeous white sand beach. We played in the water and layer out in the sun before walking up and down the beach to pick up trash. Then when we got back we went turteling. That was so much fun even though no turtles were actually found. I can't leave out the fact that tonight was Mexican night for dinner, and it was amazing!

Today we were told that we would be going on a nice 30 min long walk to a beach. Although everyone was surprised and a bit upset when we realized that there was no path at all and that we would be bush whacking through millions of thorn trees for two hours. After many scrapes and bruises we finally made it to a beautiful beach. We picked up some trash and played in the ocean. Mike picked us up in his dingy to bring us back to our boat because there was no way we were going back the same way. We ate macaroni and cheese for lunch and then attempted to catch some turtles - but were unsuccessful we had a very good Mexican meal for dinner and are now waiting for our cookie cake to get out of the oven

Lunch ashore, dingy driving

Today was so much fun! We didn't have any community service jobs to do today so it was very chill. We woke up around 7am and had a delicious breakfast of fluffy pancakes, (made by chef Julia, and sous chef Connor.) After breakfast we sailed over to Leverick Bay where we had free time to hang out in town. We had a scrumptious lunch in town, after which we sailed a tiny way to Vixen Point where we learned how to drive the dingys. Although learning to drive the dingys was a bit difficult for some, (including me.) It was fun and we got a lot of laughs out of it. Tonight we had a BBQ where all the boats on the fleet, (Actionquest and Lifeworks) met up and ate and danced together. Everyone looked so pretty and the BBQ was fun for the most part, just not exactly what we expected. We ended up getting back to the boat at 11:30 to get some well deserved sleep.

We then got back to the boat and moved to the other side of the harbor to get ready for our BBQ with Actionquest and the other Lifeworks boats.

Painting the Community Center

So today we painted the community center and tagged turtles. It was pretty hot and disgusting but it was a pretty awesome day. Catching the turtles was really fun, but having to pierce the tags into them was a bit upsetting. Anyways, we all came back with paint all over us so it was really nice to shower.

Today everyone woke up anticipating painting the community center. Little did we know we would also be tagging turtles in groups of 4 with the other Lifeworks boat Natasha. We washed the walls of the center off before starting to paint. Starting on the back wall, everyone grabbed a paint roller and started painting. Meanwhile, people were catching and tagging turtles. Kim, Beanie, Sarah and I caught one turtles and named it Franklyn. PB and J for lunch. Tomato Stroganoff for dinner. After dinner when Torin went to shore to pick something up, he brought back fries for all of us!!! They were devoured in about 10 seconds!

Prepping the Community Center

Today we got up around 7am to rainy weather but then it cleared up and we headed to the town in Anegada and the community Center. That was great because we were able to help the residents by scraping and hopefully be able to paint the center. It was a long but successful day and around 5 we came back and had dinner and a birthday cake for Andrew ( and small surprise.) It became a little rainy but hopefully will clear up.

Exploring the Baths and Spanish Town

Today was wonderful! I guess I just woke up happy. Even though it poured cats and dogs last night and some of us were sleeping in the hammocks. Beautiful sunny day, clear skies , smooth sailing. Lots of fun! We woke up bright and early to early to explore the Baths. (GORGEOUS!!!) Most definitely my favorite part so far. The beaches and caves were amazing. Snorkeling was cool too, and exploring Spanish Town was awesome. The locals are very friendly and lunch was super yummy. The sunset was beautiful. We even saw a barracuda in the water.

The Baths and boulders and the whole scene there was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I feel like I'm in a postcard. We all had a lot of fun at the Baths, jumping off the rocks, snorkeling, and playing some team building games on the beach. Next, we went to Spanish Town for lunch and had a nice time there. We came back to the boat at 2:30 and set sail on a 3 hour sail to Anegada for the night. We had a great day!
